Mediterranean Cooler

There's nothing like a refreshing cocktail to help cool the heat of summer. I came up with this delicious concoction while sitting on a Mediterranean beach last summer and it sure does do the trick!
1 Part Vodka or Rum
1 Part Cointreau
1 Part Fresh Lime Juice
1 Part Simple Syrup*
(To make an Azur Cooler also add 1 part Blue Curacao. This makes the cocktail a beautiful shade o Azur Blue like the waters of the Cote D'Azur.)
Mix all ingredients in a shaker with ice and serve either straight up or over ice in sugar rimmed glasses garnished with mint and a lime wedge.
*Simple Syrup
In a saucepan bring equal parts of Sugar and Water to a boil for 3 minutes. Cool. The mixture can be refrigerated for several weeks to use in your favorite cocktails.
